Fashion Diaries - Olympus Fashion Week Spring 2007

It's always exciting to visit my home town and gain inspiration from people watching and the endless shopping opportunities.  But there is exceptional eye candy on the streets of New York during Fashion Week!

My mission this year was not only to view the collections of the veteran designers, but to also uncover new talent.  This proved to be a logistical nightmare, but well worth the headaches in the end.

The first challenge was to coordinate my schedule for the week.  What a task!  With the more well known designers showing in the tents at Bryant Park and the emerging designers showing in various directions uptown and downtown, it became a little overwhelming.  Suffice it to say that I missed several shows while hailing a taxi cab or jumping on the train to get from point A to point B.  The emerging designers were also a bit tardy (understatement!), making the transition impossible in some instances.

Here are some of my favorites:

Abaete

Academy of Arts

Verrier

Afshin Feiz

Araks

Daniel Franco

Jason Wu
