Fashion Diaries - Olympus Fashion Week
Spring 2007
It's always exciting to visit my
home town and gain inspiration from people watching and the endless shopping
opportunities. But there is exceptional eye candy on the streets of New
York during Fashion Week!
My mission this year was not only to view the collections of the veteran
designers, but to also uncover new talent. This proved to be a logistical
nightmare, but well worth the headaches in the end.
The first challenge was to coordinate my schedule for the week. What a
task! With the more well known designers showing in the tents at Bryant
Park and the emerging designers showing in various directions uptown and
downtown, it became a little overwhelming. Suffice it to say that I missed
several shows while hailing a taxi cab or jumping on the train to get from point
A to point B. The emerging designers were also a bit tardy
(understatement!), making the transition impossible in some instances.
